June 21, International Yoga Day is the longest day of the year with the Sun at it’s highest position in the northern sky. This year Father's Day was co-incidentally just 2 days earlier than this Sun-day.
With so much light shining down on Mother Earth today, it is a powerful day for spiritual growth and healing.. a day of enlightenment… a day to develop ourselves spiritually and realizing that nothing… nothing is forever… people will go like the June Sun and new people will come like the December Sun after the winter solstice when it will be at it’s weakest. It is a day when we must learn to be grateful for what we have and accept that we must enjoy What & Whom we have today. Be fully present in the here and now and appreciate their presence in our lives… because they make up our lives. When they leave, there will be someone or something that will take up the empty space left behind, but while they are here, let’s enrich our lives with their presence.
We do not want the sun to go down, but it’s the sunset and sunrise that are the prettiest. Life is a bittersweet experience.. all of us go through the ups and downs. It’s the Circle of Life. Let us find or make our path in life.
Today is a good day to reflect on all the things in life that you are grateful for. It is a good day for self-reflection, looking within ourselves and to set an intention for ourselves to find balance in our life and gather the strength and courage to be the BEST, BRAVEST & BOLDEST we can be.
And hence today has been designated as International Yoga Day. The study and practice of Yoga gives us that very opportunity to grow by awakening our inner fires and potential.
There is no end to this study and there is no final perfect asana. We each have our own journey to undertake .. from the hands reaching the top of the knees to touching the ground, it is all growth.
Start from where you are. Have fun living the life you want to.. create it for yourself.
No one is going to do it for you.
